Argos 5 Light Crystal Pendant - Smoked Brown Glass with Remote Control

The Schuller Argos is a 400mm-diameter pendant light with a smoked brown glass dome enclosing five G9 LED bulbs and a cluster of faceted crystal drops suspended beneath a polished chrome canopy. The five 10W dimmable LED bulbs are included and controlled via a remote handset, allowing output adjustment from full brightness to a low ambient glow without requiring a wall-mounted dimmer circuit.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room focal positions with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.0m, the Argos pairs the reflective qualities of the crystal interior with the diffusing effect of the smoked glass outer shell. The brown-tinted glass softens the light output and reduces glare while allowing the crystal facets inside to create refracted patterns across the surrounding ceiling and walls when the lights are on. The suspension cables are adjustable between 400mm and 1400mm drop during installation.

The smoked glass shade is a single moulded dome approximately 230mm tall and weighs 4.2kg when fully assembled with the chrome canopy, crystal elements and LED bulbs fitted. The polished chrome canopy sits flush to the ceiling rose and conceals the cable entry point. The brown glass tone pairs with warm timber interiors, brass or bronze fixtures, and both contemporary and traditional room schemes where a darker accent is needed without the starkness of black or gunmetal finishes.

Assembly Instruction

Are the bulbs included?

Yes. The Argos comes with five 10W G9 LED bulbs pre-fitted. The bulbs are dimmable via the included remote control handset and do not require a separate wall-mounted dimmer circuit to function.

How does the remote control work?

The remote handset communicates with a receiver built into the pendant canopy. It allows dimming from full output to a low ambient level and switching the light on or off without touching a wall switch. The remote operates on battery power and does not require pairing or configuration on first use.

What drop height works best over a dining table?

The pendant typically hangs 700-900mm above a dining table surface, which works well in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The suspension cables are adjustable between 400mm and 1400mm total drop during installation, so you can set the final height to suit your specific ceiling and table configuration.

Can the glass shade be cleaned?

Yes. Switch off at the mains before cleaning. Wipe the exterior of the smoked glass dome with a soft microfibre cloth. For the interior crystal drops, access requires removing the glass dome from the canopy — refer to the assembly instruction PDF in the Downloads tab for disassembly guidance.
