Argos 5 Light Crystal Pendant - Smoked Brown Glass

The Argos is a 40cm drum pendant light with a smoked brown glass outer shade encasing a series of cascading crystal drops inside. Five G9 bulb fittings sit among the crystals, creating internal sparkle that diffuses through the tinted glass. The pendant hangs from a polished chrome canopy on adjustable cables, allowing the drop to be set between 40cm and 140cm during installation.

Designed for dining tables, living room centrepieces and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Argos provides both ambient and decorative function. The smoked brown glass softens the light output while the internal crystal drops create refracted patterns across walls and ceilings when lit. The 40cm diameter suits spaces where a medium-scale pendant is needed without dominating a typical 4-6 seater dining table or 3m-wide room.

The brown glass is mouth-blown with a semi-transparent finish, so the intensity of the smoke tone varies slightly between production batches. The polished chrome canopy and cable hardware provide a cooler metallic contrast to the warm-toned glass. The pendant carries a 4.2kg assembled weight and requires a ceiling fixing rated for at least 6kg to support the combined glass, crystal and metal frame safely. The G9 bulbs are dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer (bulbs sold separately).

What bulbs does the Argos take?

The pendant takes five G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 10W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose warm-white G9 LED bulbs between 3W-5W and 2700K-3000K to suit the brown glass tone.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model and bulb type chosen.

What drop height is recommended for a dining table?

For a dining table, the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the table surface. With the adjustable cable range of 40-140cm, this works in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m. Lower the pendant for a more intimate light pool over the table, or raise it for broader ambient coverage.

Can the glass be cleaned?

The smoked brown glass can be wiped with a soft, dry microfibre cloth when the pendant is switched off and cool. For internal crystal drops, remove the glass shade (following the assembly instructions in reverse) and wipe each drop gently with a barely-damp cloth, then dry immediately to avoid water spotting.
