Description
The Arctis Large is a 100mm square outdoor wall light with a recessed centre panel that houses an integrated 1.5W LED casting warm 3000K light downwards and outwards through a frosted diffuser. The housing is made from brown-finished aluminium and rated IP65, making it suitable for mounting on exterior walls exposed to rain, dust and coastal conditions.
Designed for pathway lighting, garden walls, patio perimeters and entrance porches, the Arctis delivers low-level accent lighting rather than flood illumination. The 100mm x 100mm face sits flush to the wall with a 100mm projection, so it works on walls flanking narrow paths or steps without protruding into the walkway. The downward light cast helps define edges and surfaces below the fitting without creating glare at eye level.
The brown aluminium finish provides a neutral tone that blends with brick, render, timber cladding and stone walls. The IP65 rating means the internal components are protected from water jets and dust ingress, allowing the light to remain outdoors year-round without needing seasonal removal. The non-dimmable 1.5W LED is pre-fitted and rated for tens of thousands of hours of use, removing the need for bulb replacements over the fitting's lifespan.
From Ideal Lux, an Italian manufacturer of contemporary architectural and decorative lighting. The Arctis carries a five-year warranty covering manufacturing defects.

Frequently Asked
What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the Arctis is fully protected against dust ingress and can withstand water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for mounting on exterior walls, patios, garden boundaries and coastal locations where rain, wind-driven moisture and dust are present year-round.
Can the LED be replaced?
The 1.5W LED is integrated into the fitting and not user-replaceable. It is rated for tens of thousands of hours of use, meaning it should last the effective lifespan of the fitting itself. If the LED fails within the five-year warranty period, contact Ideal Lux or the retailer.
Is the Arctis dimmable?
No. The integrated LED operates at a fixed 1.5W output on 230V mains and is not compatible with dimmer switches.
How is the light directed?
The LED sits inside a recessed panel that directs light downwards and outwards through a frosted diffuser, creating a soft wash of light below and to the sides of the fitting. It does not project light upwards, so it functions as accent and pathway lighting rather than flood illumination.
