Description

The Arcena is a 50cm square LED pendant light built from a matt black aluminium frame with an integrated 3000K LED strip running the perimeter. The frame itself is 25mm deep, giving a slim floating-square profile when viewed from below, and the LED casts light both downward through the centre opening and outward along the black metal edges.

Designed for installation above kitchen islands, dining tables and home office desks where clean linear geometry suits the space, the Arcena hangs on a 2500mm adjustable cable from a ceiling rose. The 500mm x 500mm footprint suits table widths of 800-1200mm comfortably without overwhelming smaller dining areas. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor rooms only.

The matt black finish on the aluminium absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, which keeps the frame visually recessive when the LED is off and allows the square geometry to stand out when lit. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light comparable to halogen, making it suitable for residential dining and kitchen environments where cooler daylight-white LEDs can feel clinical. The frame weighs approximately 1.8kg and requires secure ceiling fixing capable of supporting the pendant plus any swinging forces from draughts or accidental contact.

The Arcena is part of Ideal Lux's architectural linear LED range and shares design language with the brand's rectangular bar pendants and circular hoop fittings, allowing multiple shapes to be mixed within a larger space if coordinating lighting across an open-plan area.

Can the Arcena be dimmed?

No. The integrated LED driver is not dimmable. The fitting delivers a fixed light output when powered on.

What table size does the 50cm square suit?

The 500mm x 500mm frame works well above dining tables or kitchen islands between 800mm and 1200mm wide. For wider surfaces, two Arcena pendants can be installed in a row, spacing them 800-1000mm apart on centre.

Is the cable length adjustable on installation?

Yes. The 2500mm suspension cable can be shortened during fitting to set the pendant at the desired height. Most installations place the frame 700-800mm above a table surface for dining use, or 600-700mm above a kitchen island worktop.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Arcena is not protected against moisture ingress and must be installed in dry indoor rooms only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor covered areas.
