Description

The Aperta is a wall-mount audio door entry handset designed for single-door residential intercom systems. The white plastic handset measures 240mm tall by 140mm wide and sits on a recessed wall bracket, with a coiled cord connecting the handset to the base unit. Three control buttons on the right side handle door release, call answer and volume adjustment.

Intended for flats, maisonettes and small residential buildings where a wired door entry system connects a street-level panel to individual dwelling units, the Aperta provides two-way audio communication with the door station without requiring mains power at the handset itself. The unit mounts to a standard UK back box or directly to the wall surface depending on the installation method preferred. The coiled cord allows the handset to be lifted and positioned comfortably for conversation while remaining tethered to the wall bracket.

The white finish is designed to blend with typical interior walls in hallways and entrance areas. The handset weighs 600g when lifted, giving sufficient heft to feel substantial without strain during extended conversations. The control buttons are recessed slightly into the body to prevent accidental activation when the handset is hung on the bracket. Compatibility depends on the specific door entry system installed — the Aperta works with ESP's own Aperta door entry panels and selected third-party systems using standard audio wiring protocols.

Frequently Asked

What door entry systems is this compatible with?

The Aperta handset is designed to work with ESP's own Aperta door entry panels and selected third-party audio door entry systems using standard wiring protocols. Check the manual or contact us to confirm compatibility with your existing system before ordering.

Does it require mains power?

No. The handset receives low-voltage power through the wiring from the door entry system itself. No separate mains connection is needed at the handset location.

How is it mounted?

The wall bracket can be surface-mounted directly to the wall or fixed to a standard UK back box. The handset then clips onto the bracket and the coiled cord connects to the base unit wiring terminals.

Can it control an electric door release?

Yes. The door release button on the handset sends a signal to trigger the electric strike or magnetic lock fitted to the door, allowing entry to be granted remotely from inside the dwelling.
