Description

The Aperta audio handset is a wired door entry receiver designed for residential and commercial intercom installations, finished in white gloss. The handset connects to ESP Aperta door entry panels via simple 2-core cabling and provides two-way audio communication with visitors at the entrance, plus a lock release button to trigger electric strikes or magnetic locks remotely from inside the property.

The handset fits both single-dwelling and multi-dwelling installations, allowing one or multiple handsets to be wired to the same door panel depending on the building configuration. The magnetic receiver holster holds the handset securely on the wall plate when not in use, preventing the coiled cable from sagging or tangling. The lock release facility activates on a button press, sending a signal back down the 2-core cable to unlock the door without needing to approach the entrance.

The white gloss casing measures 270mm tall by 110mm wide by 75mm deep when wall-mounted, with a coiled cable connecting the receiver to the base plate. The durable ABS construction resists impact and daily wear in hallways, lobbies and internal corridors. The handset weighs 380g, light enough for standard plasterboard or masonry fixings without additional bracing.

Frequently Asked

What cable type is required?

The handset uses simple 2-core cable (such as bell wire or alarm cable) to connect to the ESP Aperta door panel. The exact cable specification and maximum cable run length are detailed in the installation manual linked in the Downloads section.

Can multiple handsets be wired to one door panel?

Yes. The Aperta system supports multi-way installations, allowing several handsets to connect to the same door panel. This configuration suits apartment buildings, offices or homes where multiple rooms need access to the door intercom.

How does the lock release work?

The lock release button on the handset sends a signal back to the door panel, which then triggers an electric strike or magnetic lock wired to the panel's lock output. The visitor is granted entry without needing a key or remote fob.

Is the handset compatible with video door panels?

This is an audio-only handset with no screen. It works with ESP Aperta audio door panels. For video intercom installations, ESP offers separate video handset models with integrated displays.
