Description

The Aperta audio door entry handset is a wall-mounted intercom unit designed for residential and commercial door entry systems, finished in black gloss. The handset connects to door entry panels via simple 2-core cable, supporting both single-property and multi-way installations where multiple handsets share a common line to the door panel.

The handset provides two-way audio communication with visitors at the door panel, plus a lock release button to trigger an electric door strike or magnetic lock remotely from inside the property. The receiver sits in a magnetic holster on the front of the unit, keeping the handset tidy when not in use and providing tactile feedback when the receiver is correctly replaced.

Measuring 270mm high by 110mm wide and projecting 75mm from the wall, the unit fits standard interior wall mounting with concealed cable entry from behind. The black gloss casing is durable ABS, suited to hallways, entrance lobbies and security offices where door entry control is needed without video functionality. The handset works as a standalone audio-only unit or as an audio component within a wider Aperta video door entry system.

Can this handset be used in a multi-apartment building?

Yes. The Aperta handset supports multi-way installations where multiple handsets are wired to a common door entry panel. Each handset can answer calls and release the lock independently.

What wiring is required?

The handset uses simple 2-core cable between the unit and the door entry panel. Cable gauge and maximum cable run length depend on the specific door panel model being used — consult the product manual for wiring diagrams.

Does it include video capability?

No. This is an audio-only handset. It can be used standalone for audio-only door entry systems, or as an additional audio handset within a wider Aperta video door entry system where the video monitor is a separate unit.

How is the lock release activated?

A button on the handset triggers the lock release signal, which connects to an electric door strike or magnetic lock at the door. The release mechanism must be wired and configured as part of the overall door entry system installation.
