Description

A set of four glass Christmas baubles, each 6cm across, in an antique gold finish that pools and mottles across the surface rather than running flat. Each one is capped with a fluted brass collar and a hanging ring, and hangs from a printed cotton sari tie. No two ties in a set carry the same pattern.

At 6cm these are small baubles. Four of them will dress a wreath or a tabletop tree, and on a full-sized tree they sit among larger decorations rather than carrying a branch on their own. The mottled finish picks up light from several directions at once, so it shows whether the bauble hangs at the front of a branch or deeper in it. Each tie is long enough to loop straight over a branch without a hook.

The baubles are recycled glass and the caps are brass. The finish is uneven across each sphere, reading gold in some lights and closer to silver in others, so no two in a set look alike. Each sari tie is cut from a different length of fabric, so no two sets are alike.
