Our Anniversary mugs come as a pair of stoneware mugs, each holding 380ml, which is a generous size for a proper mug of tea or a large milky coffee. Each one is 9.5cm across and 8cm tall, with a broad mouth, a gently tapering body and a roomy looped handle. The two are decorated differently. One has a scalloped rim and small birds in flight among leafy sprigs; the other carries a dense flock of larger birds with a fine band round the rim. Both are multicoloured, so the pair look like a matched couple rather than twins.

These are everyday mugs for the kitchen and the breakfast table, and they are just as much at home on a side table beside a reading chair. Stoneware holds heat well, which suits a slow morning coffee or an unhurried afternoon tea. Because the two designs differ, the pair make an easy present for a couple or a new home, and each person can claim a mug of their own. Between uses they look good on an open shelf or a dresser, where the pattern stays on show.

The pattern is a decal print finished with hand-painted details, and the mugs are 100% stoneware.
