Description

A pair of cast iron wall hooks. Each one is a single piece: a flat round back plate 5cm across, a straight arm reaching 16cm out from it, and a short turn upward at the far end. The casting is left rough, so the surface carries small pits and ripples across the arm and the plate, and the tone is a dark neutral grey that reads close to black. The back plate is drilled for three screws.

At 16cm out from the wall this is a deep hook, far enough for a coat on a wooden hanger to hang clear of the plaster rather than pressed flat against it. That suits a porch, a boot room or a hallway where several layers end up on the same peg. The turn at the end of the arm holds a loop or a strap as readily as a hanger, and at 5cm across the back plate is small enough to sit between the stiles of a panelled door.

The metal is iron, hand cast by techniques long in use, so the surface of one hook in a pair differs from the other. Aniko also runs to a ceiling hook, a three-hook and a six-hook wall rail, and the same wall hook in brass. These are sold in twos.

Two.

How does it fix to the wall?

Through the back plate, which is drilled for three screws.

Can it go outside?

No. Indoor use only.
