Description

A pair of ceiling hooks cast in iron and finished in brass. Each one is a flat round plate 4cm across, drilled and screwed to the ceiling, with a straight bar dropping 7cm from the centre of it and turning back on itself into a J that ends blunt and rounded. The brass surface is worked rather than even, so it catches the light in patches across the plate and along the bar.

These hang things from a ceiling rather than from a wall, which is the point of the drop: a lantern, a pendant on a flex, or plainer kitchen and bathroom storage. An iron S hook carried in one of them is how a lantern or a basket is hung from a hook of this shape. The turn back up at the open end stops a ring or a loop sliding off.

Both hooks are iron under a brass finish. Each is cast and finished by hand, so the tone of the brass and the small marks across the plate differ between the two in a set. Two come in a set. The Aniko range also runs to a wall hook in the same brass finish and to wall mounted rails carrying three hooks and six.
