Description

A square side table in solid acacia, 45cm tall with a top 38cm across. The top is slatted, thick boards set with a gap between each one, and it is framed on all four sides by rails that lap over the tops of the legs and stand proud at the corners, so the joint is left in plain sight. The legs are heavy squared sections running straight to the ground. The wood keeps its own colour, warm and open grained, with the knots showing.

It is made for outdoor use. The Anbarasi range is modular, so this table is built to sit against the corner sofa or the sofa extension, and it will also stand on its own beside furniture already in the garden and take the drinks. The 38cm top holds a tray of glasses or a planted pot. It stands on a deck beside an outdoor sofa.

The table is solid acacia and weighs 10.7kg. Acacia is high in its own oil, which is why it is used outside, and this one is treated with an outdoor sealant as well. Left out, it will turn to an aged grey over time, and cracks can open along the grain once it has been through the weather, which is a property of the timber rather than a flaw in the table. Colour, shading and grain differ within one piece as well as between two. The Anbarasi range also runs to a coffee table, a modular sofa, a corner unit and a sofa extension.
