Anara Large Etched Wine Glasses - Clear - Set of 4

The Anara is a wine glass made from recycled glass, 20cm tall on a long tapered stem and a broad disc foot. A band of etched frosting runs round the lower half of the bowl, and its upper edge is left ragged rather than ruled, so the white breaks into the clear glass in fine vertical strokes. The glass is not perfectly even: the bowl carries a shallow dimpling across its face, there are small seed bubbles caught in the stem and foot, and the foot is drawn out in concentric rings.

The bowl holds 500ml, so a 175ml pour sits well down in it with room to swirl and a generous measure still stops short of the rim. At 20cm the glass stands well above a tumbler on a laid table. Four come in a set, which lays a table for four from one box.

The glass is recycled and the etching is done by hand using traditional techniques, so the depth of the frosting and the height of its ragged edge vary from glass to glass within a set. No two bowls carry the same dimpling. The Anara range is etched the same way throughout and also holds a tumbler, a champagne glass and a decanter, all in clear glass.

Are they dishwasher safe?

Yes. Wash them after every use rather than leaving them to stand, which is what causes staining, use a mild detergent, and do not leave them to soak.

Not exactly. The etching is done by hand on each glass, so the frosted band sits at a slightly different height and its ragged edge runs differently on every one.
