Description

The Amphora 02 is a large woven outdoor floor lamp: a rounded beige shade that narrows towards an open top and stands on short dark legs. It is 123cm tall and 80cm across, so it holds its own on a wide terrace or in the corner of a generous room. We sell it in three versions by light source: an integrated LED that is not dimmable, an integrated LED that is TRIAC dimmable, and a version that takes two E27 bulbs, which are not included. The LED versions give 395 lumens of warm 2700K light from 24.7W, with a CRI of 90 so colours look natural, and they never need a bulb. The E27 version takes bulbs of up to 15W each.

It is rated IP66 and made for outdoor use, so it can stand out on a patio, a terrace, a roof garden or beside a path in the garden. It sits just as happily indoors in a living room, beside a sofa or filling an empty corner. How it is powered depends on the version. The non-dimmable LED version and the E27 version both plug in, on a 3.9m cable, so they can move between the garden and the house. The TRIAC dimmable LED version is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician and dims from a compatible dimmer, which makes it the one for a fixed spot by a door or on a terrace.

It is made from aluminium, stainless steel, polyethylene and synthetic fibre, and it runs on 230V and is a Class I fitting. The design is by Alex Fernández Camps and Gonzalo Milà. At 123cm tall and 80cm across it needs a little room around it, so measure the spot first, and if you want it on a dimmer, choose the TRIAC dimmable version from the start. The E27 bulb (not included) and LED, non-dimmable versions: it has a plug on its cable, and we include a UK adaptor in the box, so it is ready for a UK socket. Outdoors, the plug and the adaptor must sit in a covered, weatherproof outdoor socket.
