Description

The Amphora 02 is a large outdoor floor lamp with a brown woven shade that has the warm look of rattan. Its rounded amphora shape swells out low down and narrows towards an open top, and it stands on three slim dark legs, 123cm tall and 80cm across. Light glows softly through the weave. We sell it in three light source versions: E27 bulb (not included); LED, non-dimmable; and LED, TRIAC dimmable (hardwired). Both LED versions have an integrated LED of 24.7W giving 372lm at 2700K with a CRI of 90, so there is no bulb to buy or change.

Rated IP66, it is made for outdoor use, so it suits a garden, patio or terrace, and it is just as much at home in a living room. At 80cm across it wants a generous space, beside a sofa, in an open-plan room or at the edge of a seating area outside. It runs at 230V. The E27 bulb (not included) and LED, non-dimmable versions plug in, on a 3.9m cable that gives plenty of reach. The LED, TRIAC dimmable (hardwired) version is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician and dims with a compatible dimmer, which makes it the one to choose for a lamp that stays in place.

The Amphora 02 was designed by Alex Fernández Camps and Gonzalo Milà. It is made from aluminium, stainless steel, polyethylene and synthetic fibre, and it is a Class I fitting, so it is earthed. The woven shade lets light through on every side, so it gives a soft glow rather than a bright point. Before you order, decide whether you want it plugged in or wired in, because that settles the version; if you choose E27 bulb (not included), you will need two E27 bulbs of up to 15W each. The E27 bulb (not included) and LED, non-dimmable versions: it has a plug on its cable, and we include a UK adaptor in the box, so it is ready for a UK socket. Outdoors, the plug and the adaptor must sit in a covered, weatherproof outdoor socket.
