Description

The Amphora 01 is a woven outdoor floor lamp in beige. It is 77.5cm tall and 49cm across and stands on three short legs. Its rounded, tapering shade has a fine vertical weave around a white inner diffuser, so the light comes through as a soft, even glow rather than glare. We sell it in three versions: LED; LED, TRIAC dimmable (hardwired); and E27 bulb, which takes two E27 bulbs of up to 15W each, not included. The two LED versions give 258 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90 from 17.1W, and an integrated LED needs no bulb.

Rated IP66, it is made for outdoor use, so it suits a patio, a terrace or a garden. The glow through the weave makes a seating area feel welcoming after dark. It is just as at home indoors: in a living room it sits beside a sofa or in an empty corner and gives soft, low light at floor level. At 49cm across it has presence, so it suits open spaces with room around it, and it looks good lit or unlit. Because the woven shade lets light out all the way round, it makes a gentler alternative to overhead lighting.

It is made from aluminium, stainless steel, polyethylene and synthetic fibre. It runs on 230V mains power and is a Class I fitting. The LED and E27 bulb versions plug in, which makes them easy to move between the terrace and the living room. The dimmable LED version is wired in to the mains and is for a qualified electrician to install, and to dim it you need a compatible dimmer. The Amphora 01 was designed by Alex Fernández Camps and Gonzalo Milà. Choose a plug-in version if you like to move your lighting around, and the dimmable version for a fixed spot where you want control over the brightness. The E27 bulb (not included) and LED versions: it has a plug on its cable, and we include a UK adaptor in the box, so it is ready for a UK socket. Outdoors, the plug and the adaptor must sit in a covered, weatherproof outdoor socket.
