Description

The Aluet S/100 is a linear pendant light: one long, half-round wood shade in a Beige & Ash Wood finish, hung on cotton straps from a slim ceiling rail. Tucked inside the curve is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives a warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so food, faces and the grain of the ash read true. It comes in two light directions, Direct and indirect, or Indirect, and the version you choose sets its power at 34.56W or 40.8W and its output at 730 or 1139 lumens. It is 100cm wide and 95cm long, the shade is 10cm tall with a 20cm projection, and it is 200cm high overall.

We see it first over a dining table, where the long shade follows the line of the table and lights along its length. It works just as well in a living room, hung above a long sideboard, where the warm wood brings a softer feel than a bare metal bar. It is TRIAC dimmable, so with a compatible dimmer you can bring it down from dinner to a quiet evening. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician.

It is made from aluminium, steel, wood and cotton: the shade is wood, the straps are cotton, and the ceiling rail is metal, 5cm high with a 4.3cm section. It is a Class I fitting, so it is connected to earth when it is installed. The design is by Emiliana Design, and we like how the plain ash grain and soft curve of the shade keep a long light feeling calm rather than technical.
