Description

A round wall mirror 62cm across, with a narrow frame in cast aluminium finished in antique brass. The frame is turned in concentric rounded ribs that step down from the outer edge in towards the glass, so its width reads as a run of highlights rather than one flat band. The brass tone is uneven, lighter where it catches the light and darker in the hollows between the ribs. The glass is flat and plain with no bevel, and it runs close to the outer edge, so the frame takes very little of the 62cm.

At 62cm this is the smaller of the two round Almora mirrors. A console, a hall table, a chest of drawers or a run of two or three up a stairwell all suit it. It hangs from a single keyhole plate fixed at the top of the back, sits 3cm clear of the wall, and weighs 5.65kg.

The frame is cast aluminium and the glass is plain mirror. Casting leaves the surface slightly irregular and the antique brass finish sits over that, so the tone shifts round the circle and from one mirror to the next. Almora runs to a larger round mirror, arched mirrors in two sizes, an oval, and rectangular wall mirrors in three sizes, in this antique brass and in antique nickel.
