Description
The Almora is a wall mirror in a cast aluminium frame, 111cm wide and 92cm tall. The frame is a slim half round moulding that steps down to a narrow inner lip against the glass, and it runs in a shallow arch across the top with the upper corners turned in rather than squared off. Casting leaves a faint ripple and pitting across the surface, so the antique nickel reads as a soft grey silver rather than a bright one.
The mirror is wider than it is tall, so it suits a horizontal run of wall rather than a tall narrow one: above a console table, a sideboard or a chimney breast, or along a hallway. Hung over a sideboard with its lower edge close to the surface, it puts whatever stands on the top into the glass as well. It is wall hung and weighs 17.82kg, and at 4.5cm deep the frame sits close to the plaster.
The frame is aluminium and the glass is plain. Each one is sand cast, so molten aluminium is poured into a sand mould and the frame takes its texture from the mould, which is why the marks across the surface differ from mirror to mirror. The Almora wall mirror is made in a smaller size as well, and the Almora range runs to round, oval and arched mirrors in an antique brass finish.

Frequently Asked
How big is the mirror?
111cm wide and 92cm tall, with a frame 4.5cm deep.
Is it made to hang on a wall?
Yes. It is wall hung, and it weighs 17.82kg.
What is the frame made from?
Cast aluminium, in an antique nickel finish. The glass is plain.
Will every frame look the same?
Not quite. Each frame takes its texture from the sand mould it is cast in, so the marks across the surface vary from one mirror to the next.
How should it be looked after?
Wipe it over with a microfibre cloth in a circular motion. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners away from the frame and the glass.
