Description

We stock the Alfa in white as a recessed LED downlight for general room lighting. It houses a fixed 15W LED module giving 750 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, set behind a white aluminium trim ring that sits flush with the ceiling. The 36 degree beam points straight down, so it works best in runs of several downlights spaced evenly across a ceiling.

We fit it in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens, dropping it into a standard ceiling cutout with access needed above for wiring. The white trim ring blends into white or light ceilings without breaking up the surface, and the CRI 90 rating keeps colours looking close to natural daylight, which helps in kitchens, home offices and dressing areas where you want an honest read on colour.

The aluminium body pulls heat away from the LED module to protect the life of the integrated source. This version runs at 15W rather than the 10W in the range, so it puts out a little more light per fitting. It carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor spots only, and it is not dimmable, running on a standard 220 to 240V mains supply.

Frequently Asked

Does it need a separate driver?

No. The LED driver is built in, so it wires straight to a 220 to 240V mains supply with nothing extra to buy.

Is it dimmable?

No. This Alfa downlight is not dimmable, so it runs at full 15W brightness and should be wired to a standard non-dimming switch.

Which rooms does it suit?

It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use, so it is at home in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens. We would not fit it in a shower zone or outdoors.

How is the 15W version different from the 10W Alfa?

Both share the same white recessed trim and 2700K warm white tone. This 15W version simply draws a little more power and gives 750 lumens for slightly brighter output per fitting.
