Akki 60 x 40cm Wool & Cotton Cushion Cover - Dusty Pink

The Akki is a cushion cover 60cm wide and 40cm tall, handwoven from a blend of wool and cotton. The ground is a muted brick rose and two rows of pale sand blocks run across it, each block with rounded corners and a faint line pulled down through the middle of it. The weave is loose and a little uneven, so the edges of the blocks break up rather than sitting square, and the two tones bleed into one another where they meet.

At 60 x 40cm this is a lumbar size rather than a square, and it sits along the back of a sofa or an armchair to take the small of the back, or across the foot of a bed. Set between larger square cushions, the rose reads warmer than the cream and oatmeal around it.

The yarn is a blend of wool and cotton woven on a handloom. The tone shifts from one part of the weave to another and the blocks vary a little in width, so every cover comes out with its own character. The Akki range runs to three covers, in 60 x 40cm and 50 x 50cm. This one weighs 0.38kg.

What size is it?

A blend of wool and cotton, handwoven on a handloom in India.

Will every cover look the same?

Close, but not identical. The tone shifts across the weave and the blocks vary slightly in width, so every cover is a little different.

Will the colour run?

The covers are tested for colourfastness.

How do I look after it?

Check the label first, because some fabrics are spot clean only. Lift a spill with absorbent tissue, then blot the area with a sponge or a folded towel wrung out in lukewarm water, and dry it with warm air from a hair dryer so no water mark is left. Larger stains should go to a professional.
