Description

This throw is a cotton blend printed with large blue shapes: broad arcs, full circles and squared-off blocks set at angles to one another. It measures 160cm long and 130cm wide. Half of the fabric is cotton, with polyester, viscose and a little acrylic making up the rest. Cotton is soft against the skin and breathes well. The weave shows plainly in the cloth as a close, ridged texture, and a knotted tassel fringe finishes the ends. At 1.1KG it is easy to carry from room to room and to fold away.

At this size it covers a lap and legs on the sofa, or lies folded across the seat of an armchair, ready for cooler evenings. It suits the foot of a bed just as well, laid over the duvet in a guest room, or kept rolled in a basket beside a reading chair. Because the pattern is drawn so large, it still reads clearly when the throw is folded small, so a single fold over the arm of a sofa shows off the arcs and circles. The blue sits comfortably with grey upholstery, plain white walls and natural wood, and it gives a pale sofa a point of colour without busy detail.

Care is simple. It goes in the washing machine at 40 degrees, can be tumble dried on a low setting and takes a medium iron, so it can stay out on the sofa through everyday use rather than being saved for best.
