Description
The medium Affiti planter is a rounded bowl in clay, 30cm tall and 40cm across at its widest, drawing in to an opening of 34cm. The wall curves out from a small flat base to a full belly and then turns very slightly inwards at the rim. The outside is mottled grey over green and darker patches, while the clay inside the rim is left a pale warm buff, so the two surfaces do not match.
This is the wider, lower shape in the Affiti range rather than the tall urn. At 40cm across and 30cm high it gives more root room than height, and three standing together will take ornamental grasses and a small succulent. A group of them runs along the foot of a wall or a step. There is a hole in the base for drainage, and the planter is listed as suitable for outdoor use.
Clay, coiled by hand in Vietnam, with a raw pared-back surface and nothing applied over it. Because the materials are natural and the planter is made by hand, the colour comes out differently on every one. The Affiti range holds this planter, a larger one at 40cm tall and 50cm across, and two taller urn-shaped pots at 49cm and 66cm.
