Description

The Adisa is a lidded glass jar holding sixteen small Christmas baubles. The jar is 13cm tall and 11cm across, blown from recycled glass with a rippled surface that breaks up whatever sits behind it, and the lid is a flat-topped dome of the same glass that drops into the neck. The baubles inside are about 3cm across, in deep red, olive, near-black and silver, and the shapes run from plain spheres to ribbed teardrops.

The jar is the storage as well as the packaging, so the set goes back into it at the end of the season rather than into tissue paper. At 13cm it stands on a shelf or a side table through December with the lid on and the baubles showing through the glass. Sixteen at 3cm will cover a wreath or a tabletop tree; on a full-sized tree they fill the gaps between larger decorations.

Both the jar and the baubles are recycled glass. Each bauble carries a brass cap and a velvet hanging tie. Adisa also runs in an antique silver set of the same size. The colours and the shapes vary within a set, so no two of the sixteen are alike.
