Description

Sixteen hand blown glass baubles in a lidded jar, in two shades of green and in clear glass. The shapes are organic rather than uniform: round, teardrop and ribbed among them, and each one is etched by hand with its own pattern. Every bauble carries a brass cap and a green cotton velvet tie. The jar is 13cm tall and 11cm across with a hammered surface, and the lid sits down into the neck.

Green against a green tree is a quieter set than gold or silver, and the clear baubles are what keep it from disappearing into the branches. Hung with the light behind them, the etching shows. The jar is the storage as well as the packaging, so the set goes back into it after Christmas.

Both the jar and the baubles are recycled glass and the ties are cotton velvet. The glass is moulded by hand while molten, so the shapes are individual and the etched patterns differ across a set. Adisa also runs in mixed colours, in antique silver, and in an antique gold and rust set.
