Description

The Adastra BC5V-B is a 100V line background speaker built for indoor commercial spaces. It uses a two-way system with a crossover network, so you get a full sound across both the low and mid-range frequencies as well as clear highs. The main driver has a coated paper cone that handles music playback and voice announcements equally well, making it a sensible choice for shops, offices, cafes and reception areas.

Wiring is straightforward. A rotary selector switch on the speaker lets you choose between several 100V line tappings or run it at 8 Ohms, so you can match the speaker to your amplifier and set the volume balance across a run of speakers. Connection is via spring terminals (spring clips), which keep installation quick. The enclosure is moulded from ABS with a powder coated steel grille, and its trapezoidal shape means you can mount it neatly into corners or angle it for directional coverage.

Each speaker is supplied singly, so you can order the exact number you need for your layout. An adjustable steel bracket is included for wall or ceiling surface mounting, and there are alternative M6 threaded mounting points if you prefer a different fixing method. The 5.25 inch driver size and black finish suit most background installations where you want the speaker to sit quietly in the setting rather than draw attention.
