Description

The Adastra 1U 10 Gang IEC PDU is a rackmount power distribution unit with ten IEC C13 socket outputs, a master on/off switch and a 1.8m UK mains lead. The unit fits a standard 19-inch rack and occupies 1U of vertical height, providing switched power distribution for AV equipment, servers, network switches and other rack-mounted devices using IEC C13 (kettle lead) power cables.

Designed for professional AV installations, server rooms, broadcast environments and live sound racks, the PDU consolidates multiple power feeds into a single rackmount unit. The master switch on the front panel allows all ten outputs to be powered on or off together, useful for equipment shutdown sequences or emergency power isolation. Each output can handle up to 10A, with the total draw across all outputs capped at 13A by the UK plug rating.

The 1.8m lead gives reach to nearby wall sockets or under-floor power points without requiring an extension. The steel chassis provides mechanical strength for rack installation, and the black powder-coated finish matches standard rack equipment. At 745g the unit is light enough for portable racks while providing stable mounting when bolted to 19-inch rack rails via the side flanges.

Frequently Asked

What devices use IEC C13 sockets?

IEC C13 is the standard three-pin inlet found on most rack servers, network switches, powered mixers, amplifiers, desktop computers, monitors and professional AV equipment. The mating cable (IEC C14 plug to UK 3-pin plug, commonly called a kettle lead) is sold separately.

What's the total load capacity?

The PDU can distribute up to 13A total across all ten outputs, with each individual output rated to 10A. In practice this means you can run ten low-draw devices (e.g. 1-2A each) or a smaller number of higher-draw devices (e.g. four amplifiers at 3A each) as long as the combined load stays under 13A.

Does it have individual outlet switching?

No. The master switch on the front panel controls all ten outputs together. For individual outlet control you would need a PDU with per-outlet switching.

What rack mounting hardware is required?

The PDU has mounting flanges with standard 19-inch rack hole spacing. You will need four M6 cage nuts and screws (or rack bolts) to secure it to the front or rear rails of a standard 19-inch equipment rack.
