Description

The Adamas 33 is a table lamp built around a generous amber glass body, held on a slim rod over a round base in a brushed brass finish. The glass is faceted across its upper half in small hexagons that catch the light, and smooth and clear across its lower half, so the amber shows both textured and plain. It stands 52.3cm tall; the glass is 33cm tall and 23.6cm across, and the base is 10.4cm across and 7.9cm tall. The light is an integrated LED of 11W, giving 746 lumens of warm 2700K white with a CRI of 90, so colours around it look true. As the LED is integrated, there is no bulb to buy.

We would put it in a living room or a bedroom. On a sideboard, a console or a wide bedside table it gives a warm, soft glow, and the amber glass carries that warmth through the whole lamp. It is dimmable by push, so you can bring it down for a quiet evening and back up when you need more light. It runs on 230V mains power and plugs in, so it needs no wiring and moves easily between rooms. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only.

In construction it is simple: a slim rod rises from the round base, passes through the centre of the glass and finishes in a small round cap on top, with the rod, cap and base all in a brushed brass finish. The brushed brass has a soft, low sheen rather than a mirror shine, which sits well with warm woods and painted walls. As a practical note, the base is 10.4cm across, so it takes little room, while the glass is 23.6cm across: allow a little space around it on a bedside table or shelf. It has a plug on its cable, and we include a UK adaptor in the box, so it is ready for a UK socket.
