The Adamas 23 is a table lamp from the Adamas range. Its Smoke Grey glass shade has a faceted honeycomb pattern across its upper half and is clear on its lower half, on a slim stem rising from a round base. It comes in two finishes, Matt Black or Brushed Brass, each with the same Smoke Grey glass. The lamp stands 44.8cm tall; the glass is 22.5cm across and 23cm tall, and the base is 10.4cm across and 7.9cm tall. Inside is an 11W integrated LED giving 746 lumens of warm 2700K light, so there is no bulb to buy or change.

We see it on a bedside table in a bedroom or on a sideboard in a living room, where the round base takes up little space and the honeycomb glass spreads a warm glow. With a CRI of 90, colours look true under it, which matters beside books, fabrics and artwork. Choose Matt Black for a crisp, darker outline against pale walls, or Brushed Brass for a warmer tone beside wood and natural textiles. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is made for indoor use.

The Adamas 23 plugs in and runs at 230V. It has push dimming, so you set the brightness at the lamp itself rather than at a wall switch. Both finishes share the same glass, the same light and the same size, so the choice between Matt Black and Brushed Brass comes down to the room around it. When you place it, allow for the shade: at 22.5cm across, the glass is wider than the 10.4cm base, so leave a little clearance on a narrow bedside table.
