Description
The Abha is a storage bench 122cm long, 46cm tall and 30cm deep, with a solid reclaimed wood top on a frame of powder-coated iron. Below the top the frame is divided into six open cubbies, two rows of three, walled in iron mesh rather than solid panels, so what is put in them stays in view. The wood keeps its own natural colour along with the grain and the marks of its earlier use, and the ironwork is dark.
This is a hallway bench. The top is solid and sits 46cm from the floor, which is a sitting height, so there is somewhere to perch while shoes go on and the six cubbies below take the shoes themselves. At 30cm deep it stands against a wall in a narrow hall or a bootroom without eating into the width of the passage, and at 122cm long it will take two people sitting or one person and a bag. It stands against a wall and takes a woven basket in one cubby and a book on the top.
The top is reclaimed wood and the frame is iron under a powder coat. Each bench is carved and put together by hand, and because the timber has had an earlier life the colour, the grain and the old marks in it differ from bench to bench.

Frequently Asked
How many cubbies does it have?
Six, in two rows of three.
Can I sit on it?
Yes. The top is solid and sits 46cm from the floor.
How much space does it need?
122cm along the wall and 30cm out from it.
Are the baskets included?
No. The cubbies are supplied empty.
How do I look after it?
Wipe the top with a soft dry cloth to lift dust and moisture, always along the direction of the grain. Mild soap and water can be used sparingly, but too much water will damage the finish. Deal with spills straight away, stand mats under anything wet, and keep it out of strong direct sunlight. If it goes in a bathroom, make sure the room is ventilated and the humidity controlled so the wood does not swell.
