Description

The large Abari is a tapered planter in zinc, 60cm across the rim and 45cm tall, which makes it wider against its height than the medium rather than simply a scaled up version of it. The rim is rolled over, the sides run straight down to a narrower base, and a rolled foot finishes it off. The patina runs pale grey and cream through to broad patches of gold and orange rust, and the seams where the sheet is joined show as faint vertical lines.

At 60cm across the rim it takes a shrub, a small tree or a mixed planting, and at 45cm tall it is a floor pot for a terrace, a doorway or the corner of a courtyard rather than something for a sill. It has drainage holes and it is made to stand outside. Set beside the medium the two step down in both height and width.

The pot is zinc and nothing is applied over it, so the rust across it now will go on spreading for as long as it stays outdoors.
