Aasha Mango Wood & Iron Nest of 2 Side Tables - Natural

A pair of nesting side tables with round mango wood tops on dark iron frames. Each top is cut into wedge shaped segments and the carving runs a different way in each one, so the ridges read as a fan across the disc, and the edge of every top is notched in a fine scallop all the way round. The frames have three square section legs, a ring under the top and a half moon foot rail that leaves one side open.

The smaller table slides in through that open side and sits under the larger one, and nested the pair stands 54cm tall and 46cm across. Apart, the two work either side of a sofa, or one at a chair and one in a corner, and at this height a top sits level with a low arm rather than down at coffee table level.

The tops are mango wood and the frames are iron, finished in a dark brown that reads close to black. Mango comes out of fruit growing: once the trees stop bearing they are taken down and the timber is used. Every top is carved by hand, so the ridges fall differently from table to table. How do I look after them?

Wipe the tops regularly with a soft dry cloth, always in the direction of the grain. Mild soap and water can be used, but not too much water, and never harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Use coasters and mats, keep wet items off the surface, and soak up spills straight away with dry paper, then wipe with a damp lint free cloth and dry at once.
