Description

The Knightsbridge A2 arbor is a steel drill accessory that connects holesaws to standard power drills, combining an 11mm hex shank for the drill chuck with a threaded collar for the holesaw and a 6.3mm high-speed steel pilot drill bit at the centre. The pilot bit drills a guide hole first, keeping the holesaw centred during cutting and preventing the saw from wandering across the material surface.

Designed for use with Knightsbridge holesaws from 32mm to 90mm diameter, the arbor suits electricians, joiners and tradespeople fitting downlights, cable entry points and socket back boxes in plasterboard, timber and composite sheet materials. The 11mm hex shank fits standard 13mm keyed and keyless drill chucks and resists spinning under load better than round shanks. The arbor measures 128mm total length with the pilot bit extended.

The arbor body is machined steel with a black oxide finish to reduce surface corrosion during storage. The threaded collar accepts Knightsbridge holesaws with A2-compatible threads — not all holesaw brands use the same thread pitch, so check compatibility before pairing with non-Knightsbridge saws. The 6.3mm pilot bit can be replaced if it becomes blunt, though the arbor and bit are sold as a combined unit.

Frequently Asked

What holesaws is this arbor compatible with?

The A2 arbor fits Knightsbridge holesaws from 32mm to 90mm diameter with A2-compatible threads. It is not compatible with holesaws from other manufacturers unless they explicitly use A2 threading, as thread pitch varies between brands.

What is the pilot drill bit for?

The 6.3mm pilot bit drills a guide hole through the material before the holesaw teeth engage. This keeps the holesaw centred and prevents it from skating across the surface at the start of the cut, particularly on smooth materials like plasterboard and MDF.

Can the pilot bit be replaced?

The pilot bit is press-fitted into the arbor body and can be knocked out and replaced if it becomes blunt, though replacement bits must match the 6.3mm diameter and length. The arbor and bit are sold as a combined unit here.

What drill chuck size is needed?

The 11mm hex shank fits standard 13mm keyed and keyless drill chucks. It does not fit smaller 10mm chucks or impact driver hex bit holders without an adapter.
