Description

The Knightsbridge 6ft LED emergency batten delivers 50W and 5350lm of 4000K cool white light from an integrated LED strip housed in a matt silver aluminium and polycarbonate body measuring 1768mm long, 60mm wide and 52mm deep. A built-in 3-hour emergency battery module maintains lighting during mains power failure, operating in maintained, non-maintained or switched emergency modes depending on installation wiring.

Designed for commercial, retail and industrial settings where emergency lighting compliance is required, the batten suits workshops, corridors, stairwells, warehouses and communal areas in multi-occupancy buildings. The fitting mounts via a rear terminal box that accepts mains wiring and switches the unit between normal and emergency operation without external control gear. The 102lm/W efficacy keeps running costs lower than fluorescent battens of equivalent output.

The opal polycarbonate diffuser softens the LED strip to reduce glare on polished floors and screens while maintaining 5350lm full-brightness output on mains power. In emergency mode the output drops to 205lm, sufficient for safe egress lighting under UK Building Regulations. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments, and the Class I earthed construction requires standard three-core wiring to a protective earth.

The matt silver finish on the aluminium body provides a neutral appearance that sits comfortably in both finished commercial interiors and rougher industrial spaces.
