The pressed steel housing is finished in white enamel with an opal polycarbonate diffuser running the full length of the fitting, providing even light distribution across the 120° beam angle without visible hotspots or striping.

Designed as a direct replacement for traditional T8 fluorescent battens in workshops, garages, storage areas, utility rooms and commercial back-of-house spaces, the fitting measures 1790mm long by 60mm wide by 85mm deep and mounts onto walls or ceilings using the keyhole brackets at each end. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral cool white light that sits between the warmer domestic tones (2700K-3000K) and the colder industrial whites (5000K+), making it a practical choice for task lighting where colour accuracy matters but warmth is not a priority.

Can this replace a traditional T8 fluorescent batten?

Yes. The fitting is designed as a direct swap for 6ft single-tube T8 fluorescent battens. Remove the old batten, disconnect the wiring, mount the LED batten using the keyhole brackets, and connect to the mains supply. No ballast or starter is required — the driver is built into the fitting.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED module runs on a constant-current driver that does not support dimming. If dimming is required, consider a different model in the Knightsbridge batten range with dimmable capability.

What does L70B50 at 50,000 hours mean?

L70B50 is an LED lifespan rating. After 50,000 hours of use, at least 70% of the LEDs in the fitting will still produce at least 70% of their original light output. At 8 hours per day, 50,000 hours equates to approximately 17 years before noticeable degradation.

Can it be used in damp or outdoor locations?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable only for dry indoor environments. It is not protected against moisture ingress. For damp or outdoor use, choose a batten with IP65 or higher rating.
