Description

The Knightsbridge AC652581 is a 5ft twin fluorescent batten fitting that houses two 58W T8 lamps (sold separately) behind a yellow polycarbonate body with a prismatic diffuser. The fitting runs on high-frequency electronic ballast at 110V primary voltage and carries an IP65 rating against water ingress and dust penetration, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations where corrosion resistance is required.

Designed for commercial, industrial and agricultural environments including warehouses, workshops, car parks, storage units, food preparation areas and outdoor canopies, the yellow polycarbonate body resists impact and UV degradation better than standard steel or aluminium battens. The prismatic diffuser spreads the light output evenly across the 1563mm length while reducing glare from the exposed tubes. Surface mounting brackets and 12 fixing clips are included in the box, along with push-fit terminals that simplify wiring on site.

The 1563mm x 129mm x 90mm dimensions suit installation in standard 1600mm ceiling grid spacing or direct surface mounting onto concrete, blockwork or steel framework. The Class I earthing requirement means the fitting must be connected to a protective earth conductor. The high-frequency ballast eliminates the flicker and hum associated with older magnetic ballast fittings, improving light quality and extending lamp life. The yellow finish provides high visibility in low-light conditions and is often specified in hazardous or high-traffic areas where the fitting itself needs to be clearly seen.

The fitting takes two 58W 5ft T8 fluorescent tubes with bi-pin ends. Lamps are not included and must be purchased separately. Standard 1500mm T8 tubes in 3000K, 4000K or 6500K colour temperatures are compatible.

Can this be used outdoors?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects against water jets from any direction and dust ingress, making the fitting suitable for outdoor canopies, loading bays, agricultural buildings and other exposed locations. The polycarbonate body resists UV degradation and impact better than metal alternatives.
