Description
The Knightsbridge 5ft non-corrosive fluorescent fitting houses a single 58W T8 fluorescent tube behind a yellow polycarbonate body rated IP65 against dust and water ingress. The high-frequency electronic ballast reduces flicker and hum compared to conventional magnetic ballasts, and the yellow body provides high visibility in safety zones, construction sites and outdoor installations. The fitting measures 1563mm long and operates on 110V primary voltage.
Designed for industrial, commercial and construction site use, the fitting suits warehouses, loading bays, workshops, outdoor covered areas and plant rooms where resistance to moisture, dust and impact is needed. The polycarbonate body and prismatic diffuser resist shattering under impact, and the IP65 rating allows installation in damp or dusty environments where lower-rated fittings would fail. Surface mounting brackets are supplied, with 12 fixing clips included for secure attachment to ceilings or walls.
The prismatic diffuser distributes light evenly along the 1.5m length while protecting the tube from dust and moisture ingress. Push-fit terminals simplify wiring on installation, and the high-frequency ballast increases lamp life and efficiency over traditional magnetic gear. The yellow finish meets site visibility requirements and pairs with other yellow-bodied safety equipment. This fitting requires a 58W T8 fluorescent tube, sold separately.

Frequently Asked
What does IP65 mean for this fitting?
IP65 means the fitting is fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor covered areas, damp workshops and dusty industrial environments where lower IP-rated fittings would fail.
What tube does it take?
The fitting takes a single 58W T8 fluorescent tube, 5ft (1500mm) length. The tube is not supplied with the fitting and must be purchased separately.
Why is it rated 110V instead of 230V?
110V is the standard voltage for construction site and temporary installations in the UK, providing reduced shock risk in wet or outdoor environments. This fitting is designed for site use and requires a 110V supply or step-down transformer.
What's the benefit of high-frequency control gear?
High-frequency electronic ballasts eliminate the flicker and hum associated with older magnetic ballasts, improve energy efficiency, extend tube life and provide instant start without warm-up delay.
