Description

The Knightsbridge 5A unswitched socket provides a single round pin outlet behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a black insert. Designed for fixed lighting circuits and low-current appliances that draw up to 5A on 230V mains, the socket is certified to BS 546 and carries Class I earthed construction for safe permanent installation.

Commonly used for table lamps, standard lamps and wall lights in residential, hospitality and commercial settings where the lighting circuit runs through a dedicated 5A circuit breaker rather than the 13A ring main. The unswitched design means the outlet is always live when the circuit breaker is on, making it suitable for lamps controlled by their own inline switches or for circuits controlled by a wall switch elsewhere in the room.

The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed. The brushed chrome finish shows a subtle linear grain that reduces fingerprints and reflections compared to polished chrome, pairing well with contemporary, industrial and transitional interiors. The black insert behind the faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to the outlet aperture. The low-profile design projects just 4.3mm from the wall once fitted.
