The 432 Ways Cylinder LED Ceiling Light is a neat cylinder that sits on the ceiling and sends its light straight down. It is 10cm across and 16cm tall, compact enough to group in pairs or rows. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 16.4W and gives 1875lm or 1913lm depending on the version, with a CRI of 90, so colours in the room look natural rather than flat. It comes in two colour temperatures: 3000K for a clean warm white, or 2700K for a softer, cosier glow.

We like it for living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, landings, bedrooms and studies, wherever you want focused light from the ceiling without a pendant hanging into the room. A row of them along a wall picks out curtains, artwork or a stone surface, and a pair over a dining table or sofa gives a tidy, architectural look. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry indoor rooms only. Dimming comes in two versions: the Phase-cut dimmable version works with a compatible dimmer, while the DALI or push dimmable version suits a DALI control system or push-button dimming.

It comes in a choice of finishes: White, Black, Brushed Champagne, Brushed Bronze, Brushed Brass, Textured Olive Green and Textured Terracotta. White and Black keep it quiet against a plain ceiling, the brushed finishes add warmth, and the textured colours give it a soft, tactile surface that sits well with plaster and natural stone. It runs at 230V on the mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician, so it is worth deciding on positions early.
