Description
The Knightsbridge 4 gang modular floor plate is a brushed chrome floor box lid designed to accept up to four 25x50mm euro modules or two 50x50mm euro modules in any combination. The 144x94.5mm steel plate sits just 16.2mm above floor level when closed, making it an ultra-flat solution for raised access floors, solid floors and screeded installations where trip hazards need to be minimised.
Designed for office, hospitality, conference and commercial installations, the plate provides a clean mounting point for data, AV, power and multimedia modules without the bulk of traditional floor boxes. The spring-loaded hinged lid opens to approximately 90 degrees for module access and closes flush when not in use, with an integrated foam gasket providing basic dust and debris sealing to IP20. The brushed chrome finish pairs with modern office furniture, raised access flooring systems and polished concrete or engineered wood floors.
The premium-grade steel construction provides structural rigidity when installed in floor voids, and the plate includes an earth terminal for grounding metalwork. Each euro module slot measures 25x50mm, allowing installation of standard Knightsbridge data modules (HDMI, USB, RJ45, XLR, 3.5mm jack) or compatible third-party modules. The plate is fixed to the floor void using screws through pre-drilled mounting points, with module insertion from above once the plate is secured.

Frequently Asked
What euro modules does this floor plate accept?
The plate accepts four 25x50mm euro modules or two 50x50mm euro modules in any combination. Compatible modules include Knightsbridge data, HDMI, USB, RJ45, XLR, 3.5mm jack and similar third-party 25x50mm format modules. Modules are sold separately and inserted from above once the plate is fixed to the floor void.
What floor depth is required for installation?
The 16.2mm above-floor depth is minimal, but installation requires a suitable floor void or recessed box beneath to house the modules and cable runs. Raised access floors and screeded installations with conduit typically provide adequate depth for standard euro modules.
Is the lid spring-loaded?
Yes. The hinged lid opens to approximately 90 degrees for module access and closes flush automatically via a spring mechanism. The foam gasket provides basic dust and debris sealing to IP20 when the lid is closed.
Can it be used in wet areas?
No. The IP20 rating provides protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but offers no protection against water ingress. The plate is intended for dry indoor installations only.
