Description

The Knightsbridge 32mm bi-metal holesaw is a cylindrical cutting tool with variable 4/6 teeth per inch (TPI) designed to drill clean circular holes through steel, stainless steel, die-cast metals, hardwood flooring, plywood and rigid plastics. The 32mm diameter matches the standard cut-out requirement for many electrical socket boxes, downlight housings and cable access grommets in commercial and residential installation work.

The bi-metal construction combines a high-speed steel cutting edge welded onto a flexible spring steel body, allowing the holesaw to withstand the heat and torque generated when cutting through harder materials like stainless steel or mild steel plate without the teeth fracturing. The 38mm cutting depth handles most standard wall thicknesses, electrical back boxes and worktop installations in a single pass without needing to drill from both sides.

The yellow powder-coated finish provides corrosion resistance during storage and helps identify Knightsbridge tooling on site. The holesaw requires a separate arbor (HSARBORL, sold separately) to attach to a standard power drill or drill press. The variable TPI tooth pattern balances cutting speed in softer materials like plywood against durability in harder metals.

Frequently Asked

What arbor does this holesaw need?

This holesaw requires the Knightsbridge HSARBORL arbor (sold separately) to mount onto a power drill. The arbor includes the pilot drill bit and the threaded attachment that holds the holesaw securely during cutting.

What materials can it cut?

The bi-metal construction handles steel, stainless steel, die-cast metals, hardwood floors, plywood and rigid plastics. The 4/6 TPI variable tooth pattern provides a balance between cutting speed in softer materials and durability in harder metals.

How deep can it cut in a single pass?

The 38mm cutting depth handles most wall thicknesses, electrical back boxes and worktop installations in a single pass. For thicker materials exceeding 38mm, you would need to drill from both sides or use a holesaw with greater depth.

Is this suitable for cutting socket back box holes?

Yes. The 32mm diameter matches the standard cut-out for many electrical socket boxes, downlight housings and cable access grommets used in UK residential and commercial electrical installation work.
