3 Gang 2 Way Light Switch - Carbon Fibre

A screwless front plate gives this switch a clean face, with no screw heads breaking up the carbon fibre weave. The finish is a genuine texture rather than a flat print, so it catches light in a low, matt way and sits well against darker paintwork. Chrome rockers run across the plate in a bright line, and each of the three gangs is two way.

We tend to suggest this plate where several circuits meet at one point: a hallway with a hall light, a stair light and a landing light, or a kitchen split between ceiling lighting, under cupboard lighting and a pendant over the table. The wiring arrangement lets a switch here pair with another elsewhere, so a landing light answers from the top or the bottom of the stairs. The rockers are broad enough to find with a knuckle when your hands are full, and they move with a positive action. It suits dry indoor rooms on domestic lighting circuits, and it belongs with graphite, charcoal or industrial schemes rather than pale traditional ones.

The plate is moulded polycarbonate with metal parts behind it, and the switch is double insulated. Keep cleaning gentle: a dry cloth for dust, and for finger marks a cloth wrung out in warm water, dried off straight after, with nothing wet near the rocker edges. Solvents, polishes and cream cleaners will dull the texture, so leave them in the cupboard. It carries a ten year warranty. Set against chrome or brushed steel handles and dark worktops, the weave and the bright rockers hold their own, and we would choose it over a plain white plate in a room that has already gone dark.

Can I use it as a one way switch?

Yes. Each of the three gangs is two way, so it can be used on a single switch position or paired with a second switch controlling the same light.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is made for dry indoor rooms only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, shower rooms and anywhere exposed to splashing.

How should I clean the textured finish?

Dust it with a dry cloth. For marks, use a barely damp cloth and dry it immediately, avoiding solvents, polishes and abrasive creams.
