Description

The Knightsbridge 2W LED under cabinet light is a 73mm diameter surface-mount or recessed downlight with an integrated LED and a three-position CCT switch allowing selection between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 5000K cool white. The matt black pressed steel body houses an SMD LED array behind a clear polycarbonate diffuser, delivering 135-140 lumens output depending on the selected colour temperature.

Designed for kitchen under-cabinet lighting, shelving accent, wardrobe interiors and display cabinet task lighting, the fitting connects directly to 230V mains without requiring a separate driver. The 1.2m hardwired cable allows daisy-chaining multiple units on a single circuit or terminating at a nearby junction box. For surface mounting the fitting projects 30mm from the underside of the cabinet; for recessed mounting a 58mm cut-out and 50mm void depth are needed, with the fitting sitting 25mm into the void.

The matt black finish provides a modern alternative to chrome or white fittings in darker-toned kitchens and interiors. The 115° beam angle gives broad wash coverage rather than a tight spotlight effect, making the fitting suitable for general task lighting across a worktop or shelf rather than accent lighting on specific objects. The fitting carries IP20 rating for dry indoor use and a Class II double-insulated construction requiring no earth connection.

How is the colour temperature changed?

A small switch on the fitting body allows selection between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 5000K cool white. The switch must be accessed before or during installation — it cannot be changed once the fitting is recessed or if access to the body is blocked.

Can it be surface-mounted or does it need to be recessed?

Both mounting options are available. Surface mounting projects 30mm from the cabinet underside. Recessed mounting requires a 58mm diameter cut-out and 50mm void depth, with the fitting sitting 25mm into the void.

Is the fitting dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and will not work correctly with dimmer switches. If dimming is required, consider a different model from the Knightsbridge range with dimmer compatibility.

Can multiple fittings be connected together?

Yes. The 1.2m hardwired cable allows daisy-chaining multiple units on a single circuit, or each fitting can be terminated individually at a nearby junction box depending on the installation layout.
