Description

The Knightsbridge 20AX 1-gang intermediate modular switch is a 25x50mm grey ABS switch module designed to slot into euro modular faceplates. An intermediate switch is the third switch in a three-way lighting circuit, allowing a single light or group of lights to be controlled from three or more locations in a room or hallway.

Designed for installers building custom switch configurations, the module clips into standard euro modular frames and can be combined with other Knightsbridge modules (switches, dimmers, sockets, data ports) to create bespoke multi-gang plates. The 25x50mm footprint occupies a single module width in a modular grid, allowing up to four modules in a standard quad-gang euro plate or two modules in a double-gang frame.

The grey ABS rocker matches Knightsbridge's modular range finish and suits commercial, hospitality and residential installations where a neutral grey tone is preferred over white or metallic finishes. The 20AX rating handles lighting loads up to 4,600W on 230V mains, comfortably exceeding typical residential lighting circuit demands. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only.

It sits between two two-way switches and allows control of the same light from three or more positions. A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The module itself is 25.7mm deep, so a 25mm box provides just enough clearance when wiring is managed carefully. A 35mm or 47mm box gives more comfortable working space during installation.
