Description
The Knightsbridge 20AX 1-gang 2-way modular switch is a 25x50mm grey module designed to fit euro modular faceplates, allowing custom electrical configurations across residential and commercial installations. The switch operates on a 2-way circuit, meaning it can control a single lighting or appliance load from two different switch locations within the same circuit.
Designed for flexibility in bespoke wiring projects, the module clips into compatible euro modular faceplates alongside other modules (sockets, dimmers, data outlets) to create tailored control panels. The 25x50mm footprint occupies a single-width module slot, so a standard 2-gang euro faceplate can accommodate two of these switches side by side, or one switch paired with a narrower module. The 20AX rating handles lighting circuits up to 4,600W at 230V, covering most domestic and commercial lighting loads.
The grey ABS construction provides a mid-tone neutral finish that works across industrial, contemporary and office environments. The IP20 rating limits the switch to dry indoor locations (living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, offices) where moisture ingress is not a concern. The module requires a minimum 25mm back box depth, matching standard euro modular installation requirements.

Frequently Asked
What is a 2-way switch used for?
A 2-way switch allows a single lighting or appliance load to be controlled from two different switch locations. This is commonly used on staircases (switches at top and bottom) or in larger rooms where multiple entry points need control over the same light.
What faceplate does this module fit?
The module fits any euro modular faceplate with 25x50mm module apertures. Knightsbridge produces compatible faceplates in various gang configurations and finishes. The module clips into the faceplate and can be combined with other modules (sockets, dimmers, data outlets) to create custom control panels.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 25mm back box depth is required for safe installation. This is the standard depth for euro modular systems, matching the module's 25.7mm projection from the faceplate rear.
Can this switch be used in bathrooms or kitchens?
The IP20 rating means the switch is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for areas where water splashes or moisture ingress may occur, so it should not be installed within bathroom zones or directly above kitchen worktops near sinks.
