2 Gang Telephone & Cat 5/6 Ethernet Socket - Platinum Silver

This is a two gang faceplate in platinum silver that brings a telephone connection and a wired ethernet data socket together on a single plate. The screwless design means the outer plate clips over the fixings, so the front face reads as one clean square with nothing breaking the surface. The plate measures 88mm square, the standard footprint for wiring accessories, and the moulded apertures sit side by side for easy access with a plug in each.

We reach for this where a desk position needs both a landline and a hard-wired network point and there is only room for one plate. It works well beside a home office desk, behind a television or media unit, at a hallway router position, or in a bedroom where a wired connection is preferred to wireless. Everything on this plate is low voltage: it serves telephone and data circuits and carries no mains power, so a 13A socket is still needed nearby for the router or computer itself. It is intended for indoor rooms only.

The body is moulded ABS finished in platinum silver, a light grey-toned metallic tone that sits comfortably against pale walls and mid greys alike. It carries a ten year warranty. Keeping it looking right takes very little: run a dry cloth over the plate now and then, and if fingermarks build up around the apertures use a cloth wrung out in plain water rather than a spray, so nothing runs into the connectors. Household cleaners and polishes will dull the finish over time, so leave them for other jobs. Visually it is at its best in rooms where the wiring accessories all share one finish and one plate style, letting the telephone and data points disappear into the wall alongside everything else.
