2 Gang Modular Floor Plate - Matt Black (Flat Plate)

The Knightsbridge FPF2GMB is a 2-gang modular floor plate built from premium-grade steel with a matt black powder-coated finish and a spring-loaded lid. The plate accepts either two 25x50mm euro module inserts or a single 50x50mm euro module, allowing the floor outlet to be configured for power sockets, data ports, HDMI, USB or AV connections depending on the inserts fitted.

Designed for boardrooms, hotels, co-working spaces and residential installations where floor-level access is needed without trailing cables, the plate sits flush with finished flooring when closed and opens via a spring-loaded hinge when access is required. The foam gasket around the aperture provides a tight seal against dust and liquid ingress to IP20 standard, and the earth terminal ensures safe grounding when used with earthed euro module inserts.

The matt black finish provides a low-sheen surface that resists fingerprints and blends into dark flooring materials such as black tile, polished concrete and dark timber. The 86x94.5mm footprint fits standard floor box cut-outs, and the 16.2mm total depth allows the plate to sit nearly flush with flooring without needing deep under-floor voids. The steel construction and 25-year guarantee indicate the plate is built for commercial-grade durability rather than light domestic use.

Euro module inserts are sold separately and clipped into the rear of the plate aperture. The plate itself provides the mounting and protection; the inserts provide the actual connectivity. This means the same floor plate can be reconfigured for different connection types without replacing the entire assembly.

What euro module inserts does it accept?

The plate accepts either two 25x50mm euro modules side-by-side, or a single 50x50mm euro module. Common inserts include 13A sockets, RJ45 data ports, HDMI, USB-A, USB-C, XLR and blank plates. Euro modules are sold separately and clip into the rear of the aperture.

Can it be used in wet areas?

No. The IP20 rating provides protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm and basic dust ingress, but no protection against water or moisture. It is designed for dry indoor use only.

What floor types is it suitable for?

The 16.2mm total depth allows the plate to sit nearly flush with timber, tile, carpet and vinyl flooring. It requires a floor box underneath to house the wiring and euro module rear bodies. Most standard floor boxes accept this plate size.

How does the lid open?

The lid is spring-loaded and opens when pressed, staying open while the euro module inserts are in use. When released, the spring mechanism closes the lid to sit flush with the floor.
