Description

The Knightsbridge 18W LED eyelid bulkhead is a 360mm diameter outdoor wall light with a die-cast aluminium body finished in grey and a polycarbonate opal diffuser. The integrated LED gear tray allows switching between three colour temperatures — 3000K (1020lm), 4000K (1080lm), or 6000K (1090lm) — by repositioning a selector on the tray before installation. The eyelid hood above the diffuser directs light downwards, reducing upward glare and light spill into neighbouring properties or the night sky.

Designed for pathways, building entrances, car parks, and communal areas, the bulkhead carries an IP65 rating for protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, allowing year-round outdoor installation in exposed positions. The 110-degree beam angle provides wide coverage across wall-mounted zones without creating harsh shadows or bright spots. The anti-vandal polycarbonate diffuser resists impact in high-traffic areas, and the die-cast aluminium housing withstands coastal air and urban pollution without corroding.

The 18W SMD LED delivers 153.2lm/W efficacy and a rated 50,000-hour L70B50 lifespan, meaning the bulkhead will still deliver at least 70% of its original output after 50,000 operating hours when at least half the batch is tested. The non-dimmable constant-current driver runs on 230V 50Hz mains and requires no external control gear. The grey finish sits neutrally against rendered, brick, timber and composite cladding without the reflective punch of metallic finishes, suiting modern residential and commercial exteriors where a low-key presence is preferred.

How is the colour temperature adjusted?

The CCT selector is on the LED gear tray inside the bulkhead. Set it to 3000K, 4000K or 6000K before installation. Once the bulkhead is wired and mounted, the colour temperature is fixed until the unit is opened again.

Is it suitable for coastal locations?

The die-cast aluminium body and IP65 rating make it suitable for coastal environments, but the grey powder-coat finish may show salt deposits over time. Regular rinsing with fresh water extends the finish lifespan in marine settings.

Can it be installed on a wooden wall?

Yes. The bulkhead is Class I and requires an earth connection. Fit the mounting plate securely to the wall structure, ensuring the cable entry gland seals tightly around the supply cable to maintain the IP65 rating.

What does the eyelid hood do?

The eyelid hood above the diffuser blocks upward light spill and directs output downwards. This reduces glare when viewed from above, minimises light pollution into the night sky, and keeps the light focused on pathways and entrances rather than spreading onto neighbouring properties.
