The Knightsbridge FPR9UPCW is a 13A 2-gang unswitched floor socket with a spring-loaded polished chrome cover and white insert, designed for recessed installation into floors. The socket sits flush when closed, projecting just 3mm above floor level, and the spring mechanism lifts the cover when pressed to reveal two standard UK 13A outlets underneath.

Designed for office floors, hotel rooms, boardrooms and open-plan residential spaces where power is needed away from walls, the socket fits a standard 35mm minimum back box depth and requires a cut-out in the floor surface to accommodate the recessed 30mm depth. The spring-loaded cover protects the outlets from foot traffic, dust and liquid ingress when not in use, and the IP20 rating confirms suitability for dry interior environments only.

A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed. The socket recesses 30mm below floor level and projects 3mm above when closed, so the total floor build-up including the back box, socket body, and any floor finish (carpet, vinyl, timber) must accommodate this.

Can the socket be used in bathrooms or kitchens?

The IP20 rating confirms the socket is designed for dry interior environments only. It is not suitable for wet rooms, bathrooms, outdoor use, or areas where liquid spillage is likely. The spring-loaded cover is not waterproof.
