Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 2-gang unswitched floor socket provides two 13A outlets recessed into floor level, protected by a spring-loaded polished brass cover with white insert. The socket sits flush with finished floor surfaces when closed, projecting just 3mm above floor level, with the outlets recessed 30mm below. The 35mm minimum back box depth requirement makes it compatible with standard underfloor void depths in raised access floors and concrete screeds.
Designed for hotel rooms, office floors, conference spaces and residential open-plan areas where wall sockets are too far from furniture clusters or workstations, the floor socket provides power access in the centre of rooms without trailing cables. The spring-loaded cover closes automatically when not in use, protecting the outlets from dust, liquid spills and foot traffic. The IP20 rating confirms suitability for dry interior areas only — this socket is not rated for bathrooms, kitchens or outdoor use.
The polished brass finish gives a warm metallic accent that pairs with traditional and classical interior schemes, while the white insert behind the brass cover provides a clean backing to each outlet aperture. The premium-grade steel construction handles repeated opening and closing cycles in commercial environments, and the 25-year warranty reflects Knightsbridge's confidence in the build quality. The unswitched design means both outlets remain permanently live when the circuit is energised — useful for floor positions where reaching down to operate switches would be awkward.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is needed for installation?
A minimum 35mm back box depth is required. The socket projects just 3mm above floor level when closed, with the outlets recessed 30mm below the surface. This depth is compatible with most raised access floor systems and concrete floor screeds.
Can this be used in kitchens or bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means this socket is suitable for dry interior areas only. It is not rated for use in kitchens, bathrooms or any area where water or liquid spills are likely.
Does the cover stay open when in use?
The spring-loaded cover opens when lifted and closes automatically when released. When plugs are inserted, the cover remains open against the spring tension, closing automatically once the plugs are removed.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this floor socket style in multiple finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
